Steps2Generosity

Philanthropy, Volunteering, and Social Entrepreneurship

Program Name:Steps2Generosity

Purpose: The Program aims to teach children the art and skill of Giving and Sharing.

Target Audience:4-14 years children, who have often spent a long time on the receiving end of services and welfare to engage with kids who need the most.

Duration: 2 Hours

Major Highlights:The vision of this program is to develop in kids an entrepreneurial approach to social issues they are passionate about. We achieved this vision by providing a learning environment that fosters a lifelong practice of action learning, leadership, self-awareness and self-responsibility. We acknowledge there are a number of models of social investment, however the approach this program takes is to focus on two areas: Engaged Philanthropy and Social Entrepreneurship. We believe these two models provide the most powerful vehicle to achieve systemic social change.

Outcome of the Program: Children are developed with sharing skills by practising them. Also,

1. Increased and active participation of children in different activities related to knowledge-sharing, friendship, encouraging a spirit of sharing and cultural exchange.

2. Children realized the importance and value of what they have and by engaging children in meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, develop leadership and harness their giving power.

3. The ultimate aim we achieved was forging stronger relationships between the children irrespective of their socio-economic backgrounds and allows them to move on the steps 2generosity.
